Red Sonja Visualizer!

This very cool creation is courtesy of Brazilian CROM! reader Siegfried!  It's a Red Sonja skin-mod for the "Visualize Her" WinAmp plug-in...you gotta see it in action to believe it, because the screenshots below simply don't do it justice!

Here's a little taste of what it's all about by way of YouTube (that is, less Siegfried's Sonja mod)...

And here's everything you need to get up and running, in five easy steps!

1.  Download and install WinAmp HERE.

2.  Download and install "Visualize Her" HERE.

3.  Run WinAmp and enable the visualization in WinAmp (i.e. Options - Visualization - Select Plug-in - Mojo Master Visualizer, and click the START button).  Exit WinAmp.

4.  Download the custom Red Sonja skin HERE.

There's actually two Sonja versions, one in the "fine" folder where Sonja is clean and healthy, and another in the "damaged" folder with a battle scarred Sonja dancing on a blood splattered floor.  Open the folder of choice, and copy the files into the MojoMasterMedia folder.

i.e. in Windows XP that's c:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\MojoMasterMedia

5.  Run WinAmp and start the visualization.  Kick back and enjoy the show!

Oh, and don't forget to press "Q" while the visualizer is running for a special treat!

I just couldn't resist adding a Crom! tramp stamp to my dancing Sonja...real easy to do since the skins are simply .jpg files...

Awesome! Thanks Siegfried!

Amber Heard as Red Sonja Rumours...

You'd better believe that I'll be weighing in on the whole Amber Heard as Red Sonja rumours that have been circulating of late, but considering the importance of such a revalation, much, much more research is necessary first!  In the interim...

Yum...

The Gods Are Set To Take Revenge On RED SONJA

Source: Dynamite Comics

The sequel to Red Sonja: Wrath of the Gods arrives in February with Red Sonja: Revenge of the Gods. In this premiere issue, defeat is eating away at the trickster god Loki. He hates being banished to the barbaric, backward lands of Hyboria. He hates the food, the wine, the women and he hates Red Sonja most of all for putting him in the position. He dreams of revenge and putting this backwater land under his heel. Sometimes dreams come true. Written by Luke Lieberman, look for Red Sonja: Revenge of the Gods #1 this coming February!

"Loki's bitter defeat at Sonja's hands still tastes fresh, imagine a god reduced to consorting with common mortals," says writer Luke Lieberman. "But Loki is a thinker, he has a plan to regain his former glory and more, all he needs is to unleash the Ragnorok. Sonja thought she was done with the trickster, little did she know his greatest trick is yet to come. And when doomsday is upon them, she must call on Thor once more - only one things is certain, many will die in the days to come."

Red Sonja, the She-Devil with a Sword, is a high fantasy sword and sorcery heroine created by Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith. She first appeared in Conan the Barbarian #23 by Marvel Comics. Red Sonja has become the archetypical example of the fantasy figure of a fierce and stunningly beautiful female barbarian who typically wears armor resembling a bikini or lingerie. The character now appears monthly in two of her own series, Red Sonja and Queen Sonja, as well as a series of mini-series and one-shots from Dynamite Entertainment. So don't miss Red Sonja: Revenge of the Gods this coming February!

See Red Sonja Sever Heads....Live!

Well probably not, but there WILL be swordplay so anything could happen!

We've seen some amazing photos of Red Sonja's alter ego, Wendy Potter, on CROM! once before (here), and now she's stopped by to let us know (with a little friendly prodding, that is) about an upcoming appearance...a swords demo at Mountain Empire Comics in Johnson City, TN on Saturday Nov. 27th, 2010!

"Admission is free. The show will last about 20 minutes and will feature the Ballad of Red Sonja by Frank Thorne as before music."...Big savings that day at Mountain Empire, so if you're in the area, head on down for cheap backissues, videos, toys, tees, and graphic novels, and enjoy the show!

Wow.  Every comic store should have a Wendy out front.

Whether you can make it or not, be sure to stop on by her website (Red Sonja and the Hyborian Players) for a whole lotta cool!  To wrap things up, this picture from Wendy's site is screaming for a caption, but I'm at a loss...I've set it up for you, my Hyborian brethren...got funny?

Dan Brereton Returns For RED SONJA: DELUGE

Source: Dynamite Comics (Press Release)

Writer/artist Dan Brereton takes on his favorite red-headed warrior again with Red Sonja: Deluge coming this November! In this special issue, a violent storm floods the lonely countryside, and Red Sonja takes shelter in a cramped inn. After a deadly altercation with the town bully, Sonja vows to keep out of the locals' power struggles. But when the dead man's brothers appear, all Hell breaks loose indoors as Mother Nature rages around them, threatening to awaken a long buried horror in the earth. This issue also features reprints of classic Sonja material!

"I have been a Feudal Japan junkie since the old SHOGUN mini-series debuted on TV," says writer Dan Brereton. "So I wanted to tell a story set in a place reminiscent of Medieval Japan and its seamy underworld, and having Sonja trapped in there seemed a great place for her to chew some scenery. The townsfolk in this story are pretty awful people, and its fun to watch them repeatedly underestimate and misjudge Sonja over and over again. They just cant take her at her word anymore than they can themselves be trusted. And of course, Sonja gets to cut loose and maim and kill as well, so I'm pretty jazzed to see this one hit the stands."

Red Sonja, the She-Devil with a Sword, is a high fantasy sword and sorcery heroine created by Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith. She first appeared in Conan the Barbarian #23 by Marvel Comics. Megan Fox as Red Sonja?!

Pajiba.com is reporting that Megan Fox has been offered the leading role in the upcoming Red Sonja movie.  And I quote:

"The potentially bigger news, here, however, is that not only is Rose McGowan out, but right now, there’s an offer out to another actress to take the role. That actress? Megan Fox."

Um, geez, I don't know...Megan Fox as Red Sonja?  Let me think about that for a moment...

It's all got me thinking about CROM! Reader Badelaire's comment in a older post, and I quote:

"Sadly, the "real" Crom doesn't care if you pray to him or not, and his judgment of your actions doesn't come until you're in front of him at the time of your death."

Well I'm starting to think that you were wrong Badelaire, cause Crom has gone and answered MY prayers!  Pleeeeease say yes Megan, I for one am behind you 100% on this!

Here's another Marvel mash-up from Brazilian publisher Editora Abril...it's Superaventuras Marvel!
