Conan in the Czech Republic and Slovakia! Part 2!

This time round, it's Conan books from the publisher Brokilon of Ostrava, Czech Republic!  I'll tackle these chronologically, and once again click on the book titles below for a brief writeup about each story (by way of google translate).

First up, it's the Czech version of a book that I discussed briefly before (here), written by the only published Polish author of a Conan novel, Jack de Craft!

Jack de Craft (pseudonym of Jacek Piekara)
Conan a královna smrt (1999)
“Conan and the Lady of Death”

The cover art is by Tereza Porodová, but I couldn't find anything more about Tereza.  Big thanks to Raziel for the correction on the title (in the comments section, below)...I've gone ahead and changed it above.

Four of the remaining five books in this post were written by Slovak Juraj Červenák, and covering them is a whole lot easier thanks to this Wikipedia page (here), in English!

Thorleif Larssen (pseudonym of Juraj Červenák)
Conan nelítostný (2000)
"Conan the Relentless"

The cover art is that of Jan Patrik Krasny...more about Jan later.  What's up with the title though...Conan the Relentless?  According to that Wikipedia page I linked to above, that is indeed the title, but a quick review of the writeup seems to indicate that it's not to be confused with Roland Green's "Conan the Relentless" (see here).

Thorleif Larssen (pseudonym of Juraj Červenák)
Conan a svatyně démonů (2002)
"Conan and the Shrine of Demons"

That's another cover by Jan Patrik Krasny (again, read on for more info about Jan).

 Juraj Červenák (a.k.a. Thorleif Larssen)
Conan a dvanáct bran pekla (2003)
"Conan and the Twelve Gates of Hell"

That one features a Michal Ivan cover.  Apparently Michal resides in Bratislava, Slovakia, and you can check out more of his artwork on deviantArt (right here!)

Jaroslav A. Polák
Conan: Třetí krok do hlubin (2008)
"Conan: The Third Step into the depths"?

Cover by Juraj Maxon, and just like our last artist (Michal), Juraj is apparently also from Bratislava, Slovakia)...and that's all I know about Juraj.  According to the writeup of the story, it appears that this book was originally released by Spiral Energy (of Brno, Czech Republic) in 2000, under Jaroslav's pseudonym Jeremy Fielder.

Thorleif Larssen (pseudonym of Juraj Červenák)
Conan nelítostný (2009)
"Conan the Relentless"

See above, as this is a reprint of a story published in 2000 by Brokilon.  Once again, the cover is by Michal Ivan.

OK, that's it for the Brokilon published Conan stories, now for a little more about Czech artist Jan Patrik Krasny.  Jan's got an incredible array of fantasy and other artwork on display over on his website, and has been published many a time around the world.

Problem - when I visit his website/gallery, my virus scanner complains about one of those trojan/fake virus scanner abominations, so rather than provide a link, I'm going to post some of his Conan creations right here (mostly artwork from book covers, and a few pages from what appears to be a Conan parody comic).

Be forewarned, if you're going to click on the thumbnails below, the occasional naked booby might reach out and slap you!

Well that's all the time I've got for today.  There are certainly some gaps in this post that could be filled, but now that you're armed with author names, book titles, and cover artists, filling in those gaps probably isn't a stretch for you!  And as always, if you have something to add or a correction to make, comments are always appreciated around here!
