Barack the Barbarian, Reloaded!

I know that Reis put together a post about the Barack the Barbarian comic book (from Chicago-based Devil's Due Publishing) waaaay back in April of ’09 (here), , but with the first arc, “Quest for the Treasure of Stimuli” wrapped up, I thought it was time for a follow-up!

Just how cool is Devil’s Due? Well I see that they’ve been posting their Barack comic online for our reading pleasure (right HERE), and that’s damn cool!

I’ve read Issue #1, and since I follow the U.S. news pretty closely from up here in Canada, I gotta say that this comic is a great read…very funny stuff!  Some of the cover art has been a pleasant surprise as well, so let’s get ‘em all in a row and take a closer look…

Issue #1 variant cover A
Cover Art by Tim Seeley and Rachelle Rosenberg

Issue #1 variant cover B

Issue #1 Comic-Con Excl cover C

Issue #2 – Cover Art by Joel Humberto Herrera

Issue #3 - Cover Art by Joel Humberto Herrera

Issue #4 - Cover Art by Joel Humberto Herrera

Barack the Barbarian One-Shot: The Fall of Red Sarah
Cover Art by Tim Seeley & Juanmar Studios

I'm not about going to go looking for the rest, but I did notice immediately that the issue #4 cover was based on Bob Larkin's cover for Savage Sword #43...

My research for this post led me to a website dedicated to Barack Obama in magazines, comics, and collectibles, BarackMags.com.  Funny, there’s no BushMags.com. Huh. I thought for sure there would be, although I rather expected something related to porn magazine collecting, not George W.
