Natalie Portman The Other Boleyn Girl.
in The Other Boleyn Girl as Anne Boleyn.
The Other Boleyn Girl is a 2008 British drama film directed by Justin Chadwick. The screenplay of The Other Boleyn Girl by Peter Morgan was adapted from the 2001 novel of the same name by Philippa Gregory. The Other Boleyn Girl is a romanticized account of the lives of 16th-century aristocrats Mary Boleyn, one-time mistress of King Henry VIII, and her sister Anne, who became the monarch's ill-fated second wife.
The Other Boleyn Girl Production studio BBC Films also owns the rights to adapt the sequel novel, The Boleyn Inheritance, which tells the story of Anne of Cleeves, Katherine Howard and Jane Boleyn.
Natalie Portman as Anne Boleyn. Portman was attracted to the role because it was a character that she "hadn’t played before", and describes Anne as "strong yet she can be vulnerable and she’s ambitious and calculating and will step on people but also feels remorse for it." One month before filming began, Portman started taking daily classes to master the English accent under dialect coach Jill McCulloch, who also stayed on set throughout the filming. (Ironically, Anne didn't have an English accent. Being raised in France, she spoke with a French accent. It is understandable that it is omitted in the film, because they also left out any mention of her early experience abroad, rewriting it as a punishment for eloping with Henry Percy.)
Wonderful,

What to write? Well I'm still astonished by the ending and the movie all in all. It's rarely a movie stuns me like this, simply makes me want to do nothing but think about how wonderful it was. This movie is so touching, so delicate and beautifully played, by each actor. It gives you a great insight of how it was at court and how it was inside the kings walls, at times beautiful and happy, and at others sad and dark.
To this movie should be a have to do, and I'm glad to have the privilege of writing this.
10/10 "Astunishing and touching, simply a have to see"
