As was the case with me recently, you too might be looking at these and wondering... huh?!

It's the SAVAGE artwork of Brazilian legend Mozart Couto! Much like the late great Spaniard Jaime Brocal Remohi, Mozart has unleashed a horde of spectacular barbaric creations upon us! He's a renowned author of books in all genres, but at one time preferred to work on adventures of sword and sorcery, and is undoubtedly a huge fan of Big John Buscema!

Here's something to wet your whistle (or is it whet? hell, I don't know, wet is more of a girl thing)...first appearing in 2002, from Brazilian publisher Opera Graphica (and Editor Universo HQ), comes Brakan, the Barbarian Avenger #1, The Sanguinary Sect! The script is courtesy of Júlio Emilio Bráz, and the artwork, well, Mozart Couto, of course. 38 Pages of glorious savagery, and freshly translated into English for your viewing pleasure!

Just a side note...Mythos Editora was some upset with this comic, since they had the rights to publish Conan in Brazil when Brakan made his appearance...Opera Graphica's reply was that they only wanted to pay homage to the Conan mythos, not plagiarize it.

In the land of Brazilian beauties, it amazes me that the artwork can be so damn fine too! Kudos to you Mozart, remarkable stuff!!
