"Don't Get Me Wrong" A New Music Video From KITTY IN A CASKET

Kitty in a Casket have just released their first official music video from the release "Back to Thrill". This is not the first single off of the new album but it is the first to have a video produced for it. The band themselves put together a vid for "Midnight Thrill Ride" and posted it on Youtube a month or so back.

Kitty From KITTY IN A CASKET Explodes On Stage!

Imagine the horror when right in the middle of a live show one of the band members just simply blows up. Yes, explodes. Body parts go flying .... there is pandemonium ..... fans running for the doors ..... the week being trampled under foot as panic sets in.

Sounds like your kind of concert right?

Well, that is exactly what happened at a Kitty In A Casket show in Europe recently.

One of the band members just blew up right in the middle of the song "Zombie Paradise". Then to make things worse ... Kitty (the lead singer) started to catch fire, as in spontaneously combust.

Okay ....... none of that really happened.

It's all just a part of a running joke between Kitty and myself on Facebook. I pointed out that if she were to blow up on stage that it would be one hell of a publicity stunt and that it would undoubtedly boost the sales of their latest CD "Back to Thrill". Kitty decided that it would be better if one of her band mates blew up instead of herself.

Alas ..... some people just aren't willing to sacrifice it all for the sake of art ..... spectacle .... shock value?

Kitty In A Casket will be performing live at the Viper Room in Vienna Austria on July 2nd. The show will be a special release party for "Back to Thrill". Other artists on the bill include RAMAZURI and The Acting Apes.

Viz Brings The World’s First Virtual Pop Singer Hatsune Miku And SUPERCELL To The US

Japanese pop group Supercell sees the digital release of its self-titled full-length major label debut in North America tomorrow – Tuesday, June 21^st– from Sony Music Direct (Japan), Inc., a division of Sony Music Entertainment Japan, Inc. Supercell Featuring Hatsune Miku will be available exclusively on iTunes and Amazon.

Supercell blends catchy pop melodies and technology-inspired vocals with captivating anime-influenced imagery and notably features the world’s first virtual pop star, Hatsune Miku. The group’s new record features 12 upbeat tracks, driven by the singer’s bright vocals and backed by lush electronic, pop and rock-inspired melodies.

Supercell is a group of multimedia creators and artists led by composer/lyricist Ryo. Hatsune Miku, whose name means, “first sound of the future,” is a digital female avatar and the most popular of the Vocaloid Character Series software originally created by Crypton Future Media using Yamaha’s Vocaloid 2 engine to create synthesized vocal tracks.

The record’s first single, “THE WORLD IS MINE,” was released in North America on May 10^th on iTunes and Amazon and placed as high as Number 4 on the iTunes World Music charts.

In Japan, Hatsune Miku is a major national phenomenon appearing in many popular video games and music videos. She’s also played several sellout “concerts,” where she performed on stage as a 3D hologram backed by a live band. Her international notoriety is spreading to North America, where she’s currently featured in a new commercial for the 2011 Toyota Corolla. Hatsune Miku is also scheduled to perform her first U.S. concert, “MIKUNOPOLIS in LOS ANGELES,” at the 2011 Anime Expo in Los Angeles, CA July 1-4. Bonsai Kitten - Monster Music Profile

With the impending Rapture and the following Zombie Apocalypse on our doorstep I thought that it would be a great public service to turn MIN readers on to another great rockabilly band that actually took the time to search me out.

The band that I think everyone should ride out the end of the world listening to is the German band Bonsai Kitten who combine punk and bass rattling tracks with modern pop to form a unique sound that will definitely cause some sort of cataclysm.

Here is their bio:

When there is a genre for the own musical creations missing, one either has to weirdly name it "a mixture of..." or just come up with a new trademark for the own style of music. The Berlin combo BONSAI KITTEN did just that by labeling their mixture of NEWPUNK and ROCKABILLY simply as "KILLBILLY". It contains explosive own compositions next to well-known, yet energetically shagged songs from the 80is and 90ies. Founded by the female singer Tiger Lilly Marleen in early 2005, grasping lots of attention within a wee of time, BONSAI KITTEN soon released their self-entitled debut album on the Japanese record-label "ON THE HILL" in 2007. The Lady Tiger Lilly Marleen lives up her name by wearing sexy outfits in leopard-print to rock the stage and sing the songs with a husky alto and full body action. All songs are performed with heavy speed by KRCZYCZ double-bass and HAJO SUN´s electric guitar to ignite the explosive material with a feisty punk rock attitude. To top it all off, drummer ALEXX Delarge´s beats it all down to a burning boiling point of music. All in all BONSAI KITTEN sum up to a rock..n..roll driven combo of dedicated musicians, who cleverly merge all different kinds of music styles into a spicy killbilly party. They do their jobs whole-hearted, sexy and with a lot of fun.

Killbilly .... now that's something I hadn't heard of .... but in regards to Bonsai Kitten it fits.

Duff McKagan's Loaded - Dead Skin (Official Video)

"The Taking" is the brand new studio album by Duff McKagan's Loaded. This is the band's third album and the first to feature new drummer Isaac Carpenter. The rest of the line-up is, of course, Duff McKagan on vocals and rhythm guitar, Mike Squires on lead guitar and BVs and Jeff Rouse on Bass and BVs. Duff McKagan says, "This is the album I've been trying to make for several years. I'm proud of the songs, the music and the spirit of this record."

The album features 11 new songs, which continuer the band's trademark blend of hard rock with a punk edginess that makes them instantly identifiable. The songs were written aver a period of time in late 2009 / early 2010 and the band went into the studio in August 2010 with renowned rock producer Terry Date [Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Pantera etc]. The result is Loaded's most accomplished and hard-hitting album to date.

Key album track, "We Win", has already had serious exposure in the States as it has been used by ESPN within their Major League Baseball coverage, including the World Series. Footage of the band performing the track during the interval at the Seattle Seahawks' Veterans'' Day game in November is up on YouTube.

"The Taking" represents the latest burst in the ever-upward trajectory of Duff McKagan's Loaded. It's easy to believe them when they boast "We Win" -- this is a band with some serious chops and, as "The Taking" proves; it's not about the giving...

Last week I posted a profile for the Austrian rockabilly band Kitty In A Casket which got a lot of people's attention including the band itself. The band's lead singer Kitty Casket was quite pleased and was quick to point out that their latest CD entitled "Back To Thrill" was due to be released on June 1st.

Kitty was also very interested in getting their horror themed music into actual horror movies, which I also thought was a great idea. At this point there are no deals in place and I am not really at liberty to discuss any details .... let's just say that there are two sides that have expressed some mutual interest and leave it at that.

Is that a tease or what?

Anyway, as I mentioned before Kitty In A Casket has been blazing up my Last FM play list over the past couple of weeks and I just can't seem to get enough of em. Hopefully you will have the same experience. Personally I can't wait to hear the new CD!

Of course, Menage A Trois jazz will be here to entertain you all evening with live jazz and showtune performances before and after the contest. (A lot of these tunes were also performed for the troops during WWII!!) Celeste Cartier will be hosting the pin up competition and we will have a panel of special judges with us!

Thee Merry Widows - Monster Music Profile

Keeping up with my series of bands
that have been blazing up my Last Fm play list as of late comes today's bio on Thee Merry Widows a group of young women who are certainly got their B movie mojo in full effect.

Certainly their cover for "The Devil's Outlaws" wins the award for best album art ever. The thing just screams "Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill"

Like a living, breathing Russ Meyers movie brought to life, Thee Merry Widows are a sight and sound to behold!

Combining elements of traditional psychobilly with their love of horrorpunk, surf, and garage, Thee Merry Widows are America's first all female psychobilly band. These girls may be pretty, but make no mistake, they ain't afriad to rock the fuck out!

Started by vocalist and burlesque queen Miss Eva von Slut and upright bassist Nikki Nightbreed in their San Francisco apartment, the band grew quickly to include sci-fi sweetheart drummer Andrea, garage rock rhythm guitar goddess Mistress Mandy, motorcycle maniac turned upright bassist Jenna Ferocious, and lead guitarist/kindergarten teacher Nishone.

Emerging from the underground, the band has become a major force to be reckoned with in California's psychobilly scene and have rocked shows with Demented Are Go, The Meteors, Guana Batz, Mad Sin, Nekromantix, The Long Tall Texans, Batmobile, The Coffin Nails, Hellbillys, and The Misfits to name a few. Thee Merry Widows have toured the US, the UK, Europe, and played a very special show for the boys at San Quentin. The girls are currently working on a blood lust follow up to Revenge Served Cold, slated for release in early 2008!

Alcohol-soaked and rocking like the Runaways on speed, these gals are ready to rumble! Think you're man enough?
