I am working for a fortune 100 company for last 12 years, rose to a senior level position. Between and Atlas America for covering pre-existing condition, what would you all recommend?
Definitely, Atlas America as it is a comprehensive coverage plan. Where as 's is a fixed coverage plan which only pays a small fraction of the actual expenses.
Altas America covers $15,000 in acute onset of pre-existing conditions, while claims to cover $50,000 in acute onset of pre-existing conditions for $150,000 coverage.
Lets take the example: Person is hospitalized for two days due to acute onset of pre-existing conditions. And the hospital charged $5,000 per day, for a total bill of $10,000. How much would you get covered in each case?
Atlas America: All $10,000 minus the deductible (deductible choices from $0 to $2,500).
KV Rao: $0 That is because the plan covers at $1,900/day for hospitalization. Therefore, the total coverage is $3,800 but you have a $5,000 deductible. Therefore, you get nothing. Tricky, isn't it? It is not what it seems.
Lets say, even for the new condition. You need a surgery that costs $40,000 (not an unrealistic amount). How much would you be covered in case?

My earlier H1 which was approved 1 year ago has been re-opened today...This is the status I see on USCIS web-site

What a stupid post.
Do you really think that all EB3 people are no US-educated? EB2/EB3 is dictated by job requirements and not the actual qualifications of someone. I am graduate of a top ranked US university but applied in EB3 since my job didn't require M.S and my company didn't want to manipulate the job requirements.
I am sure there are many more like me who were qualified for EB2 but applied in EB3.
If this is the best you can come up, I really hope that this was your first and last post.

My point is Don't crib if EB3 is retrogressed...use the system and become EB2, port your priority date, which is ofcourse dependent upon finding an EB2 job !!! All of this nonsense .."i pray someone does something for EB3" is going to get no one anywhere !! Fight for comprehensive immigration reform or HR 5882 recapture BUT for god's sake Do not blame the EB2 - India people who have played by the rules and are in a favorable position today relative to EB3 !!
The lawsuit against PD porting makes sense from an EB2 perspective and they are right to go ahead with it. Porting your PD from EB3 to EB2 makes sense from an EB3 perspective and every EB3 should try to do it before this door closes, if it does.

ICICI is good at advertising false figures (with our money of course) and SBI is little delayed in updating their websites - does that solves the equation :)
SBI rate is 43.21 for $4001 but i'm sure that's not latest because the website is not updated hour by hour ( like ICICI/R2i/C2i at least do for AD) but I've seen honesty in SBI's dealings when they actually convert $ to Rs. Even if the website shows lower rates they converted my money with higher rates because the market rate was higher during conversion.

I am using SBI M2I for several years and I have no issues, in fact I have an NRE account in India with SBI and my father also has a SB account with SBI. So, the money transfer process in whole happens with no hassle compared to any other method.
Intially I had some issues with them when I was trying to setup an online account for our bank accounts (NRE & SB) in india. The officers at the branch were we have our accounts are not well versed with computers, so they had a tough time setting up our accounts. In fact they weren't aware of the bank's online system until I told them, and they first refused to setup the accounts. So, I had to contact the bombay office and they helped them figure out the setup procedures.
Having said that, there is been a transaction delay lately with online SBI as well. My last 2 transfers took more than 8 days. I opened a ticket yesterday and waiting for their response. But overall I am okay with SBI so far.
P.S: I have used ICICI in the past and I still have the account, but I don't use it anymore, just maintaining the minimum balance in the NRE account. IMHO they are not very good service providers.

If the Repubblican Senators will confirm its vote, the Filibuster will be impossible.
We will have 9 new senators, 7 dem, one Ind, and one repubblican.
Except the senator from Montana, all the news dems are favorable for the CIR., as well as the Indipent one. I don`t know about the new senator from Tennesse.
Also Kyl was talking about the original plan from Mc Cain (who will be a runner, which means that he needs the latino vote)-Kennedy, the one passed from the senate was little bit different. Let`s hope for the duck in anycase....

Following is my case....please help me make a decision on whether to see this through or not submit passport and just travel back on AP...
Chennai consulate H1. (transfer from F1-OPT-H1).
January 2nd - date of visa interview. Asked for additional info - 221g because I have a Phd in biology
January 6th - submitted additional information. research. publications etc.
February 1st (friday afternoon)- status updated to 'send passport' on chennai consulate website.
My concerns are -
1. How long does it take VFS to return passport, if I submit passport on Monday, February 4th?
2. Would I still have to go through the PIMS verification or should I assume the consulate has already done this because they have asked me to submit passport?
Please help if you can. I have already rescheduled my tickets twice...

Guys it is really upto you to decide how much you are willing to contribute towards something which will change your future. I'm on 7th year H1B extension I pay $200 for my dependents visas. I am going to my home country and I'm paying close to $600 for Visa stamping, plus pain for doing all the paper work, and pain of taking a visa interview after living 7 years here. We don't get anything done then this visa will expire in 6 months, so another $200 for visa, another $600 for stamping, another form & another filing and above all another sleepless night. This is endless, we need to support this effort, please contribute generously.

USCIS doesn't use postmark date. Don't sperad incorrect info and don't make other members anxious needlessly.
July 2nd filers are fine. Don't worry. Just wait for your receipt notices. We have been through a lot of stress in last month and its time to relax now (for those who already filed).
