ICICI has some very good interest rates. I like them because they have online access to your account which most of the indian banks don't.
ICICI bank will cheat and steal your money. Beware. Also they are exposed to this financial crisis and the news is not coming out. I heard that so many people withdrawing money from this bank.

Thanks ak27... based on your suggestion, I have started enquiry on my case through congressman.
I also talked to second level I/O and she told me that it may be due to pending biometrics (what a relief to hear that). She didn't give me any other details so still not sure what's going (no SLUDs yet). I haven't recd any finger print notice since my first one in sep'07 so that kind of makes sense.

But, because everything that I have learnt seems to indicate that EB-3 ROW is getting a lot of visa numbers. So why the hell would it be stuck??

Any idea why it's important for the attorneys to notify USCIS that I'm no longer a H worker? The petition would expire next March anyway...
Its a USCIS regulation (8 CFR 214 2 (h) 11) that your employer/lawyers are following, which requires informing USCIS if you are no longer working in H1B status for any reason (got a GC, layoff etc):
(11) Revocation of approval of petition--
(i) General.
(A) The petitioner shall immediately notify the Service of any changes in the terms and conditions of employment of a beneficiary which may affect eligibility under section 101(a)(15)(H) of the Act and paragraph (h) of this section. An amended petition on Form I-129 should be filed when the petitioner continues to employ the beneficiary. If the petitioner no longer employs the beneficiary, the petitioner shall send a letter explaining the change(s) to the director who approved the petition.

I have had v.bad experience with them ..don't open a account there ..they will harass you like anything to send this documents and that ..for me they did the same and kept my money for 9 months without paying any interest. I will post the email that I had recd from them . they even misplaced the draft which had my principal
I took visitors health insurance from ICICI Lombard.
There was some typo in the date of birth ( my mistake actually)..so I wanted to correct it..The callcenter ppl told me that once policy is issued you cannot make any changes to it..they advised me to cancel the policy online and buy another one..they will return the money for cancelled one.
So I cancelled the policy and took another one.
They sent the cheque to my parents house after couple of weeks for the cancelled policy and they deposited it to ICICI Bank account.
Now the fun starts..the money never came into my account.
For the next 8 months, I was BBQ'd, did a sheek-kebab of myself without any use.
Finally, I got every email ID that ends with @icicibank.com and whereever there is @icicixxx.com and sent out an email blasting everyone..then also sent an email to icici bank manager from my online service manager.
Finally I got a response saying they deposited the amount already 8 months ago..I was so pissed off..I took a screen shot (.bmp) of my account for that period asking them why cant I see the transaction here..
then after a week, they emailed me saying, the amount was deposited to wrong account..means someone elses account..LOL..

these uscis reps dont even know that the uscis reversed their visa bulletin. all they were told was they will be rejected and that is what they are reiterating. they do not even know that the people at service centers were asked to hold them back. they are just like a bunch of kids who were told

You definitely need to defend yourself. If you do not, the default judgment may be entered against you (you'll be automatically guilty and responsible for the payment). Consult with an attorney first. You usually have 30 days to respond to the complaint. Did you get summons? If there are criminal charges against you, you are entitled to free government attorney. No need to ruin your life because of this.

Just wondering why USCIS is neither accepting nor rejecting the July 2nd application? How long can thy hold applications like this? Can they leverage this in their favour in the class action lawsuit? Is this procrastination deliberate , considering its legal implications?
Both the AILA and USCIS are playing hide and seek. Who ever shows up first, basically looses. So both are still hiding and we are loosing our sleep. :)

By doing what you are suggesting
a) you take numbers away from EB-3 ROW and hurt them
b) you don't do any benefit whatsoever to EB-3 India/China
c) you only benefit EB-2 India/China (at the expense of EB-3 ROW)
So, you make no difference whatsoever to huge number of EB-applicants (b), and you benefit (c) at the expense of (a).
I hope you see that this is not a good solution for the majority of EB-applicants. With this kind of cannibalization, the only people who have any incentive to stay with IV would be EB-2 India/China.
We have to work to increase the size of the pie here, and not engage in a zero sum game.
It says "not required by other classes". In this case it is required but could not be applied to EB2 due to per country numerical limits. Therefore it should go to unused pool of visas followed by AC21. Also why will USCIS prefer EB3 instead of EB2 people? It does not make sense.
As far as suing the govt is concerned we all know what happened to doctors in the UK.. so this is will be a futile exercise.

Not true...
In the EB base, only 1 GC is counted for all family members. How can it count more than one if it is a derivative of an employment visa? It might count against the Family base even though primary applicant is EB-based. Not the other way around.

it need not just a few very good core team members,
what is needed is a weight of slightly good, active and contributing, masses.
