Conan in the Czech Republic and Slovakia! Part 6!
To wrap things up with Poutník, I thought I should revisit a couple of books (magazines?) that I made mention of in a previous post. I had no idea at that time that they were part of a run of seven issues starting in 1991, which include more artwork from the likes of Czech artists Kája Saudek and Teodor Rotrekl, and all featuring stories by Robert E. Howard!
And just for fun, here's a look at what I believe to be the long running Poutník fanzine, which (based on their apparent love of all things REH and Conan) surely holds a place in Conan fandom! And yet another Kája Saudek cover!
The future looks bright for Poutník and their publishing of Conan novels, with no sign of slowing down in 2010. Three new titles are planned (and quite possibly already released), namely “Conan – Bélitin tanec smrti” (Conan - Belit’s Dance of Death?) by Czech author Václav Vágenknecht, along with the Czech translations of Andrew J. Offut’s Conan the Mercenary (Conan – žoldnéř), and Robert Jordan’s Conan the Victorious (Conan vítězný)…
