More Conan in Japan!

If you hadn't noticed the comment from Banjin here on Crom!, you need to check out his latest post over on his blog Conan the Oblivioner (click here)...It's a post dedicated to Japanese painter Honichiro Motoichiro Takebe, the artist responsible for the Conan covers of the Hayakawa pocket edition books (Gnome Press reprints).  Banjin's generously included English translations in his post, just for us!

The highlight for me was two Takebe paintings from inside of the Conan novels...I have never seen these before, so I simply must repost them here!  Many thanks, Banjin!

Original: Conan the Barbarian (Gnome Press, 1954)

Original: The Return of Conan (Gnome Press, 1957)

I see that Crom! reader Xonan has stopped by Banjin's blog and asked him about the possibility of providing a better look at the two elusive Jun Suemi covers...unfortunately, Banjin does not have them, so the search continues...

Left: Conan the Freebooter (コナンと荒鷲の道)
Right:  Conan Of Cimmeria (コナンと石碑の呪い)

And finally, I had to post this particular screenshot of Banjin's latest post, because it's kinda trippy looking at Crom! on Conan the Oblivioner on Crom! on Conan the Oblivioner on Crom!
