Self and family filed on 06/25/08, Soft LUD on 07/17/08 and Child status showed as approved on 07/15/08. 07/18/08 status showed as approved. Awaiting approval notice. Surprised at AP renewal approval so fast but I-140/I-485 pending for a year not touched at all!

Please all try to help us spread the word of IV to everyone you know that is stuck in retrogression. We represent at least half million people but we currently not even have 6 thousand members. Thus we have to bring lot many people into IV. I would encourage everyone to pls. register on this forum instead of being visitors.

Rates for consultants have definately come down just because there are a lot of folks available but I thought SAP consultants are still getting good pay. SAP Compliance Analysts in the Life Sciences sector are definately getting paid reasonable well but the catch is understanding the Life Sciences regulatory Compliance maze and having experience. There are several good folks available in this market for a reasonable rate and/or pay scale.
I myself am a SAP Consultant with 10+ yrs experience. Pays are good when the market is good. FICO consultants are definitely well paid but the catch is you must have a working experience in any industry. For e.g. if you worked previously in an insurance company, then, you should know how typically the finances in the insurance company works. This is true for any module in SAP. If you worked in a manufacturing company, then, working in SAP Production Planning will be beneficial.
Your best bet in SAP would be BI. You need not know too much functional to get into BI..Problem is that bcoz of this, lots of ppl get into BI..
For trainings, I would go to SAP Education - http://www.sap.com/services/education/index.epx. Certification trainings from SAP are extremely expensive. You are looking at the most 15k.

Let me offer some clarifications to the best of my understanding.
I joined company A who sponsored my H1B, but I never 'worked' for them, I as soon as I arrived I was sent to company B to work as a consultant, I was still an employee of company A and company A was charging company B an unknown sum / hour for my work.
During this time comapny A was paying me X ammount of money bi-monthly.
Company B offered to take me in as a permanent employee, I refused, and so they 'let me go'.
Next few months I did not have a 'project' and company A didn't pay me anything and I was told I am still an employee and I am on 'bench'.
Later on I got a 'project' with company C. Same deal company C paid company A unknown sum/ hour and I get a fixed salary bi-weekly from company A.
I am not a permanent employee of company C, I am still an employee of company A, and I filed my taxes as an employee of company A.
There were no H1B transfer application filed, since I never left/got fired from company A.
I Appreciate you help.

There is nothing like Bench period when you are on H1. You need to get paid whether you were working on a project or not. You are employed by your employer not by the contracting company where you went on a temporary project.
It is your right to get paid for the time you were employed by the company A. You are entitled to get paid and get a pay stub. If you have not been paid then you cannot furnish proof that you were in legal status especially if you are on H1.
1. Speak to your employer and ask for wages for that time and get your back wages paid to you.
2. If employer does not agree complain to your state DOL about the same. Your employer is legally obligated to pay you.
About your ability to file your GC using your marriage to a citizen I presume you already have got some advise from learned Attorney.

Personally I believe the guy who is opposing us; he is telling the truth. There are many senators who are telling that they support EB immigration. Do we believe them?

When IV admins approach various senator/congressmen offices, the staff of those offices most often visits the IV website. Do we really want them to see our profanity filled comments against the law-makers? Have we really reached a stage in our US lives where we can DEMAND things from law makers?

No, now I am a W2 employee with company "A" who sponsored my GC, I want to move to company "B" on 1099 basis. Company "B" can provide me a EVL if needed. company "A" is NOT going to withdraw 140 as well.
1099 cannot be the ONLY source of income on EAD (while 485 pending).
1099 means Independent Contractor (IC) means you are working for a client and they pay you for the services u performed on 1099.
AC 21 is for those who switch employers.... but you are not switching employer... If you are an IC then you don't have an employer (self-employed) and you get paid by a client for the services you perform to them.

When i checked my status online, i saw that there was a LUD on my pending case on 10/7 and 10/8. Wondering there is a LUD, I called the NSC and the person on the phone told me that the case is being reviewed by an officer.
My question is that if there are no numbers available, then why would there be a LUD on the case status. So has anyone else seen a LUD on their cases as recently as after Oct 1, 2008????

Can we make sure that the US politicans don't screw up things (e.g., national debt, immigration policy, social security, healthcare and wars all over the world to name a few)?
IMHO, very few politicians (US and India alike) worry about the country.

India and China does not have shortage of skills but always have shortage of jobs because of population. But USA has shortage of skills in many areas. When that will be addressed they may ask us to Pack our bags and or they may reduce the number of immigrants.
