I think all folks except you know this . You have been a member since 2007 and have only 13 posts. That just shows either you don't visit IV forums that often or you were busy with threads that only you are interested in..
No of posts doesn't means that I don't visit often..Yes true. Why should I read something in which I am not interested earlier..
It has been mentioned in a number of threads that only recurring monthly contributions get donor forum access. I wonder how you could have missed it . It was not in fine print but in large letters.
I think there are other folks who are missing it too...It should appear right at the place where folks are making contributions (i.e. when they are clicking on contribution button) but then it may decrease the donation..I don't think letters are LARGE enough..The issue is it just doesn't feel right..I know such effort needs lot of money but employing such tactics won't help the cause. May be admin should come with better alternatives...You are dividing people here: If you don't have enough money we won't give you full information. Fine with your folks if it seems right to you but I won't agree with such strategy. It also doesn't work other way: If I contribute $300 today, one time, I won;t get access but if I do similar contribution ($25*12) I'll get THE access.. Thanks You and ALL THE BEST

I applied for my EAD - paper based filing at Texas Srvc Center. They generated the receipt # on March 5th 2009.
When I enter my receipt # online, I get the message that I have entered a wrong receipt #. The same thing happens when I call in. The Customer Rep cannot give me any further information either.
Anyone else faced this issue before?
GTGC,
I have e-filed on Feb13th 2009 for TSC service center
So far I have received only the physical notice
I am not able to track my application online, because it is not available in their system.
I went ahead and raised a service request this morning.
I will update if I anything changes in my case. I would appreciate if you do the same.

Can you suggest how is Porting done if I-485 are already filed under EB-3. Do you have to file another set of I-485s. Or you just need new Labor & I-140 ?
You have to go through whole process (Labor,I-40,485) again under Eb2.But when you apply for I-140 company sends a letter to USCIS to use the Old(EB3) PD instead of new PD(Eb2).
But few things are not clear like
What happens to Eb3's I-140 and 485 if for some reason Eb2's I-140 and 485 gets rejected. Will USCIS processes Eb3's 485 and Eb2's 485 in parallel or they'll cancel Eb3's 140 and 485?If they cancel exactly at what they cancel?

I appologise if this question is totally unrelevant to this thread. Please give me some suggestions or directions to appropriate thread.
Here is my question:
BEC Status check says my case is CERTIFIED from monday. Since my PD(EB3-RIR-PD July 2002 from CA) is not current or it is not going to be current in near future i.e., atleast in another 6-12 months, Is it worth spending for I-140 premium processing ?, how much it would cost and also If I choose regular path to process I-140, how long will it take to get approval.
thx and greatly appreciated you guys suggestions.
thx

that monitors international money transfers. It is not a service. Indian banks participate in SWIFT. Your contact / donating party should know this. All you give is your checking acct # and ABA routing # and your name.
from one person from India. Using SWIFT. In 2 days. No accounts needed. Only here checking account with ABA routing #
But you need to declare in your US Tax return, if the amount received each year exceeds USD 10,000
I recently received some money from my family back home.

senthil is the biggest moron and did not get GC yet...
Hence he is still around , insecured and oppose with everybody's opinion.
He must be living alone, as he can not mingle even with single person on this whole planet.
nobody cares him, even in initial days, he used to cripple on everything and he feels that he is the only wise guy on the whole planet.
Especially when it comes to interpret the things, he feels taht he knows every thing. His background is mechnaical engg and
he is very very inferior and insecured guy as he is unable to get any software job. He was doing mechnaical hardcore job and used to cripple on everything and almost oppose every opinion and with everyone on this forum.
After a lot of frustration with this guy, core showed middle finger to him, since then he is confined to argue with forum members with pessimist views.

My internship is just around the corner (after which I will be eligible for a teaching license in VA), and I began to wonder how to go around catch 22 and get SSN.
I do have ITIN but I want my teaching certificate, so can anyone suggest the best approach?
thanx a million.....

One of my friend, he came here last DEC 2005 from India through Atlanta based consulting company. My friend paid for his H1, he paid for Air ticket to come here. The company never gives any support to find his project. They did not give him accommodation and relocation. NOTHING from the company side for the past 1-year we friends helped him by providing accommodation and food. By this FEB end his H1 is going to over (first 2 1/2 years approximately, he came after one year from approval). The company is not helping him by applying extension. Now he got one job, his company is not willing to sign the contract for this project. (Reason: They have to apply for extension, But they are telling their attorney advice them not to sign the contract since he is here for an year without their support, that will give a problem to the company). There is no other way for my friend other than to transfer his H1 to some other (good) company but He doesnt have a pay slip What to do? The entire fault is from the company side, but my friend is suffering. (He spend his H1 cost + Air ticket for nothing) Is there any solution for him? Please kindly advice /suggestions and Ideas
Thanks in Advance...
Ask your friend to start talking to other companies for transferring new H1B.Once they start the paper work..file a complaint with DOL agianst former employer. You will sure get RFE but attorney can surely answer it.Many people have got with out pay stubs and many companies know what to do in such situations. So ask your friend not to worry.Everyone will have down time in their life's and your friend had just gone thru one.
Good Luck !!!

You can include her later also as long as your case is not approved by the time she arrives.
Even if my PD is not current? Lets say I applied on July-2nd (which I did) and lets say my i-485 is not approved by Sep. She comes to USA by Sep. Lets say PD goes back to Jan-2004 (EB2). Can She apply in Sep?

talash,
I am in a similar situation. My I140 got denied by NSC due to 3-Year degree issues for EB2. I filed an MTR/Appeal (I290B) and NSC forwarded it to AAO after 6 weeks. I waited until NSC took action on the MTR (naively hoping that they would approve it) and now preparing my EB3 I140 against the same Labor. My Attorney's reason to wait was to not give NSC a reason to reject the MTR. At least now, I have a chance (even thought only .00001% probability) with AAO for EB2.

macaca,
u nearly made it as word of the year. too bad u got plutoed.:D

CNN) -- Pluto may no longer be a planet, but it has a new claim to fame: "Plutoed" has been chosen 2006 Word of the Year by the American Dialect Society.
The society defined "to pluto" as "to demote or devalue someone or something, as happened to the former planet Pluto when the General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union decided Pluto no longer met its definition of a planet."
The former planet had some tough competition in the voting, which took place Friday at the ADS' annual meeting, held in Anaheim, California.
"Plutoed" won in a runoff against "climate canary," defined as "an organism or species whose poor health or declining numbers hint at a larger environmental catastrophe on the horizon."
The runner-up was "macaca" or "macaca moment," defined as "treating an American citizen as an alien" -- a reference to a campaign remark by former Virginia Sen. George Allen that some say marked the beginning of the end for his re-election hopes.
Also in the running for Word of the Year were YouTube; surge (referring to a large, but brief, increase in troop strength); and flog ("a fake blog created by a corporation to promote a product or a television show").
Like any good awards show, the ADS meeting had multiple categories.
In the "Most Unnecessary" category, "SuriKat" (the supposed nickname of the baby girl of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes) beat out "the decider," President Bush's description in April of his position in relation to whether Donald Rumsfeld kept his job as secretary of defense.
The "Most Outrageous" award went to "Cambodian accessory," defined as "Angelina Jolie's adopted child who is Cambodian."
In the "Most Euphemistic" category, the winner was "waterboarding," defined as "an interrogation technique in which the subject is immobilized and doused with water to simulate drowning."
The ADS has been choosing Words of the Year since 1990. The Word of the Year for 2005 was "truthiness," invented by Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report," and defined by the ADS as "what one wishes to be the truth regardless of the facts." (Read the full list of winners for 2006 and past yearsexternal link)
Winning words or phrases don't have to be brand new; what's important is that they gained new prominence in the past year.
The society is dedicated to the study of the English language in North America, and includes academics, writers, and others.

Here is my story. Please let me know your suggestions. I already applied for i-485 as of July 2nd. My marriage date is August-31st. As of 2 hours back I was thinking about not filing for her i-485, but with the new dead line of August-17th, Should I hurry up and bring her to USA (on H-4) or just let this opportunity go and wait for the next one, whenever it happens?
My Priority date is: Feb EB-2.
Your insights will be very helpful.
Thanks in advance.
In my opinion, again this is my opinion based on few of my friends in similar situation, you should file for your 485 and add your wife later. Since your PD is Feb your I-485 will not be adjudicated at least before 6 months. You can add your wife anytime before that.
Again..several of my bachelor friends who have PD in 2006 following the same.
You can check with your attorney too before you make the final decision.

My husband and I attended the rally today with our 11 month old. It was extremely well organized. Kudos to the core team and everybody else who worked on this tirelessly.
It was a GREAT experience and I wouldn't have missed it for the world. There was a good turnout...I would say 2000-3000+ people...but I didn't count exactly...all I can say with authority is that there was a huge line in front of us and a seemingly unending line behind us.. :)
All the people I met were so committed to our cause and it was refreshing talking to them and exchanging views with them.
We heard Aman, Jay, Mark, Dr Gupta etc speak. All of them were VERY good speakers and could move the crowd.
There were lots of media people present so sooner or later more reports are going to come in I suppose.
We also got the chance to meet the Deputy to the Congresswoman of our district. We talked to him about the GC situation for nearly 30 mins. Btw, he mentioned that this was the FIRST time he was meeting people related to **legal** immigration and that he had met several delegations in the recent past who were representing the interests of the "other" form of immigration.
So, I think the fact that all of us were able to get in front of our representatives and were able to personally tell them our stories (and to bring out the distinction between legal and illegal immigration) is itself worth the trip to DC.

This spillover rule happening - not happening discussion has been exhausted before.
The fact is, spillover is happening in all quarters, but are conservative. The last quarter does show the biggest movement.
