Grow up, learn to accept that there are multiple ways of getting a refund !!
Depends on when you filed. The rule is changed now - previously they allowed to file separately but now they must be filed together. Not sure what multiple ways of refund you're referring to, I think you're confused.

It is natural to feel frustrated and do some actions that we think will make us relieved. This is what I would call as "action with no strategy". Whatever we do, should be well thought about ( regarding the end result as well as the negative impact it could create ). We shouldn't do anything without a clear strategy. This action plan should come from the core team.

Your definition includes, IBM, SAP... you name it, any consulting company. They all place people in clients place and make lot of money. IT Projects work that way. I am not sure how much experience you have, but with over 12 years in this industry, I can tell you that is the way business works globally. So if IBM bills 150 per hour and gives you 80K per anum. You don't complain, but if a desi startup bills 80 per hour and works hard to give you 75K, you make all these stories?? I know lot of Citizens work with many layers to get their pie. Stop whining about all these. These are all people playing by rules and creating jobs.
PS. I don't own any consulting company.

I think there is something called 'last action rule' or similar, which basically means that if you entered the US again and got a new I-94 card, then your past transgressions are forgiven/pardoned.
It would have been worse if you stayed and did not leave the country. In my humble opinion, your lawyer is wrong about this.
Check the I-94 threads on Murthy forums, you will get more information.
Of course speaking to an independent immigration attorney should be your priority # 1.

As we were discussing here is another collective idea to show our support even if we are not able to make it to a rally in DC. I personally will be willing to put up my name, my photograph and my nationality on a web page as part of peaceful protest. A couple of guys are willing to do that as well. The idea is to put a human face to the entire episode. If people are not comfortable with photographs we can just put a name and nationality out there.
1. Make a web page that has the map of America
2. The web page has the total number of people taking part in the online rally and the list of the countries that the immigrants belong to.
3. Each state links to a separate page that has photographs that has the immigrants name and nationality.
There may be some downsides that we may not be seeing. Please comment.

For an example, Total real number affected is 300000 then first problem is to bring all those 300000 to make their signature on that web page. Another problem is to create the legitimacy about that number to normal American citizen. Questions like if one person has signed 10 times this web page under different "Avatars" then perception is 10 people affected but in reality only one is affected.... If we can produce solutions for this basic gray areas then yes it is a great idea and may fly.

I re-entered US in Nov 2008 using my Parole. The new I-94 end date was driven by the travel document end date which is Nov 2009. I continued working on H1B as my H1B is valid until 2010.
My QUestion: Should I file an amendment to have my I-94 extended until my H1B end date which is 2010? My company's attorney quoted the following and said that I can continue to work until 2010 IRRESPECTIVE of my I-94 end date based on the following memorandem. What are your thoughts and experiences? Thanks for any correct feedback :)

Until then, if the alien's H-1 or L-1 employment authorization would not have expired, had the alien not left and returned under advance parole, the Service will not consider a paroled adjustment applicant's failure to obtain a separate employment authorization document to mean that the paroled adjustment applicant engaged in unauthorized employment by working for the H-1 or L-1 employer between the date of his or her parole and the date to be specified in the final rule.

Ok, so reading all your posts I've come to the following conclusion. Since my I-797 is valid until 2010 (even though the I-94 expires in Nov 09) I can continue working without filing any extension. My company would not file any extension as it is additional money for them. And even if they do, it will again become void if I travel out and come back.
So in a nutshell it makes more sense for me to get out and have a visa stamped.
I just wonder why aren't the rules governing I-94 or EAD made more public so we can readily refer to them. Isn't that a legal right? I can google and see what rentor's rights are but none on this. Strange.

What kinda jobs can we geeks even Do in the army?
Let's not forget most of us are 25+. We are mostly civilians and not people who ever wanted to join the army. Joining ANY army in any country takes pride, passion, dedication and a selflessness to die for the country.
Now if anyone on here is willing to do that, then yes by all means, this is an option to look into. However most of us here are to afraid to even come out and join IV and take a stand. Are we really going to go to the battlefront? :):p

I forgot to mention, my AP application is pending at the TSC. With the current 3 month processing timeframe, I know I won't receive the AP until the end of January.
