You Can Make A Flying Car But Can You Make A Jetpack?

Deliveries of Terrafugia’s Transition car/aircraft have just been scheduled for late 2012, after the vehicle was cleared for highway use by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Because a flying car is subject to both land and air regulations, the approval required some exceptions. The Transition will be allowed to use lightweight polycarbonate windows instead of safety glass, and permitted to drive on nonstandard tires. It was okayed as a plane by the FAA last year.
