As far as I know from friends who have had similar case in the past, yours is not at all an uncommon situation. My belief is that use of PO Box on physical address helps to get documents re-directed to their correct department. Absence of same means that the personnel in charge have to "think" where to re-direct and nothing more than that. Again this is based on what I know from reliable friends.

It is true that EB3 is unfortunate but the language of the law clearly states that Eb3 will get rolled over numbers that are not used by EB1 and EB2. There is absolutely no confusion about the language. However, it is to be noted that in an ideal situation where the wait is minimal (for which the law was made in the first place), this works perfect!
Unfortunately, EB2 is back logged more than enough for Eb3 to get any numbers trickling down.

Looks like you are one of the beneficiaries of H1 who does not have good education. You can console yourself with the word 'skill' and all that computer jargon The bottomline is H1B visa is for professionals. However, in the past few years, Indian IT bodyshops have sent underskilled computer operators to the US to enhance their operating margins. This will come to end very soon and has to come to an end very soon. I think the process has already begun. Number of H1b visas rejected at Indian bodyshops have gone up. Operating margins at Infosys has shrunk significantly. Infosys and other bodyshops have seen stock price plummet drastically.
Companies such as Congizant have stopped bringing people from India on H1. Rather they are trying to hire people in the US who already have H1B visas. The illegals who have gotton their H1B from shady consultants in NJ, CA and elsewhere. Congizant is doing community service by legalizing illegals. The people who sat on the bench during recession while holding their H1B visas without a paycheck. Sorry with paycheck which needs to be refunded to the employer by personal check. Why not, we need all of you to be active state chapter members. If you are then this is not for you, but if you haven't already, then join and make a difference. We can have interesting discussions and there is absolutely no problem with it, but we also want members to further IV goals. As the model followed is an all volunteer model, all of us know, volunteering does not come as given for everyone. Some need to be inspired, so need to be pushed, if we did not have people who did this, IV would not be existent. Try to understand why people ask everyone to join state chapters. I will stop lecturing now, but yes, threads need to be hijacked to get the point across. Without grass roots organization we will not make any progress and will defeat the whole purpose of having an organization being build from the ground up.

Ok here is my experience,
had a hard LUD and received RFE for 325A and birth certificates,
Replied to RFE - USCIS received the mail on the 8th, same day in the evening, received a hard LUD saying, RFE response received and is under process.
Till today, I have been seeing soft LUD on our case, I dont know what is going on !!!

This is applicable when 140 has been approved. If 485 is retrogressed then you will get 3 year extension. If it's current you will get 1 year extension. Guess depends on luck. For e.g if some one has applied for extension in July he/she will now get only 1 year. I found this in a lawyer's chat transcripts.

I am wondering the same for 2002 applicants. I wonder if many people were approved in 2007 fiasco and if yes, then why PD is stuck at Nov 2001?
I am also thinking the same that many might have been approved in 2007, because most of these applicants had a chance to apply before the gates were closed in 2005, and would have been approved in 2007. But 0 responses is still odd.
The reasons for Nov 2001 PD could be due to backlog processing centers that held sway over these applicants (non-RIR cases), but by same yardstick, there still should be some cases in early 2002. Odd indeed (though a good kind of "odd", as we will get a welcome jump in dates once they ball starts rolling).

I have tried to put my career goals ahead of the dollar conversion rate (not always easy). Because i took up new roles and salary , i have had to restart the GC process a couple of times. As a result i am still without GC despite being here for more than 10 years and having two masters degrees from US. I am sure this is a common story here.
I am heading towards a another change and now have very little patience for restarting the process. I am glad many people on this forum have volunteered to help pack. I will be getting in touch with you in a few months.
That there are frustrated people with opportunities outside the US, and they will leave. This is a great example. However this is still a silly poll. It does not ask questions that will bring that out. It talks about leaving to prove something to someone. People did not come here to prove things to the US and will not leave for that reason.
On another note I heard this was an activist organization. A peek at the threads shows a lot of whining and complaining about being asked to be active. maybe I heard wrong.

The rule, how I understand it, will not do any harm for those people who's I-140 is already approved. But there is still risk if I-140 is not approved and labor substitution is banned.
So it all depends on how strong the case is and how much risk is tolerable.
