Currently filing I-485 with old employer's employment offer letter. Can I later substitute older I-140 with newer I-140 from current employer while continuing the I-485 application?

Just ask yourself - if I leave in the next three months, what's the net amount I am likely to take with me. Doesn't have to exact - just make an estimate.
Is it 'would like to take' as in 'wish to take' ??
or 'am able to take' as in 'I have this much today' ??
Do I include the down payment like 40% I put on the apartment I bough back home last year??

Yes & Yes.
DMV doesnt change your status.
Morchu
1. can a person use EAD to get DL eventhough current legal status is H1 or H4?
2. If we use EAD to work, can we still use H1/H4 extension (I-797) to get DL?
Basically my question is whether we have to show current legal status (H1/H4/EAD) papers ONLY to get DL? or any valid legal paper is fine.
Thanks.

The labor at the client I mentioned was paid 15/hr or $30,000/year which is about 15K less than an average engineer graduating from US schools. They know they are underpaid. The discussion came up over lunch when I ask them if they know they are underpaid.
They are also not the best and brightest (which is the intent of the immigration). They are not IIT grads. Most are graduates of cottage education institutions all over India. They come here because it is better than the ghetto... Some grow into the job, some do not.
The Urban Institute study shows that between 1985 and 2000 435,000 U.S. citizens and permanent residents a year graduated with Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees in Science and Engineering. That's three times the number of jobs in Science and Engineering added per year, 150,000 during that time.
Separately Michael Teitelbaum at the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation told Congress that neither he nor a separate study by the RAND Corporation can find any evidence of worker shortages. These studies are not anomalies.
VIVEK WADHWA, HARVARD UNIVERSITY: Bottom line is that all of our research at Duke and now at Harvard shows the same thing. That there is no shortage of engineers; there's no shortage of scientists. Companies aren't going abroad because of skills. They're going abroad because it's cheaper.
Again, my "anecdotal" discussions are based on studies and observations about what is going on at clients around my major metro area. L1s come in, work for about 6 months and mass layoffs of US citizens occur.
Do you have some real counter evidence?
Do you work in the US?
Have you been to Dice.com and seen the number of jobs relative to applicants?
Things in IT are slow if you have not heard...

Its high time they start making waterproof visa and passport. If they can make it machine readable they should able to make it washable in case you get dirt on it.
Kidding aside. You can get a new I-94 by filing a i-102 form and sending it to USCIS. Its a very simple process and its free of cost if you are asking for replacement.
My immigration attorney is Fragoman. Based on my experience tell them everything I dont think they would remember anything they said previously :)
Hope that helps

:eek::eek: ... and my head is still spinning...
Not working isn't an issue.
The reason I want to move is because I'm in a triangle relationship with a married couple (I'm bisexual).
They want to hire me to make it able for me to move, because seeing that he is already married, a spouse or fiance visa isn't an option...
Seeing that my support when living there would come from them, it isn't an issue for me to not be able to work in the mean time.
But I would just want to move as soon as possible...
It's only that it's very hard to find a legal way to do that in the current situation...

the rule is how damaged the passport is, if the passport has some water spots but most of it is legible then the passport is returned with a cancellation stamp, if the passport got washed in a washing machine and is mostly illegible then they do not return it. Also if the pages are coming out then they can keep the passport and not return it. It is all done to ensure that if the damaged passport falls in wrong hands it does not get's missused.
This ensures a faster reissuance of passports and less security checks.

Apologize if my questions sounded naive/dumb.
From what I gather
1. Start using EAD (pariraj has a good question though)
A: Until she finds a job, she is on AOS, once she finds a job, she is working on an EAD.
2. W2 is the only option for my wife, if she starts working using EAD.
A: She can work on 1099, but a green card is always filed for a future permanent employment. However, in this case, its a derivative applicant that we are talking about, so she should be OK working as an independent contractor and paid as one.

You wrote, //Yes. Applicant can use the earliest PD for any approved I-140s and with the highest category for any I-140. In your case, after your second I-140 is approved, you can claim PD of eB2 Oct 2004.
Again, you can claim PD of eb2 Oct 2004 after second I-140 is approved.//
My PD for EB2 is not Oct 2004, it is Jun 2006.
Again,
EB2 - PD Jun 2006, I-140 pending.
EB3 - PD Oct 2004, I-140 approved.
I understand that an alien can use the earliest PD irrespective of the EB category in case of multiple approved I-140s. However, my case is different in that I want to port the EB category itself (I think - I don't fully understand yet).
If I file I-485 using EB3 category, I'll have the PD of Oct 2004 automatically. Knowing that I'll retain the PD of Oct 2004, will I be able to request INS to substitute the EB3 I-140 with the EB2 I-140?
