According to USCIS guidelines we do not have to send any originals except a few like employment letter, I-134, Medical Report etc, but definitely not I-140 is my understanding.
HOPE_GC_SOON is right regarding A#. not all I-140 approvals have A#.
So please double check before sending any originals.

Whenever whatever clock might start, fundamental fact is that the person is physically and legally living in the US for 10 years. For practical purposes he/she and his/her kids consider this as their home. With any reasonable approach, living legally in the country for 10 years should be sufficient to grant citizenship, but we are talking of permanent residency !!
Country limits are intended to avoid large populations from few countries, but the fact is that all waiting for AOS are living here anyway. Doesn't it defy the basic purpose behind country limits...

It is only free for those who filed I-485 with the new fee of $1010. AS for you, you will have to pay the renewal fee each time you renew your EAD and/or AP until your 485 is approved.

MLK used Gandhian principles to lead the Anti Segregation movement; we used the same philosophy while protesting against USCIS. Using the MLK memorial in Atlanta as a backdrop to stage the rally would surely be helpful in gathering media attention.
Using catchy slogans to highlight the similar adherence to Gandhian principles in both the movements would certainly get a lot of media attention.

When I called them, they said it's not been schedule yet. They didn't tell me whether my FP has been ordered or not. I guess for your case, they are just waiting for ASC availability. I also talked to 2nd level representative and she also told me that I haven't been schedule for FP. Hope this helps.

Man it's very easy. Why pay $275 to CPA when you can do it yourself for less than $20 through Turbo tax or HR Block? In fact I think you probably will not even pay that because you won't be e-filing.
ITIN is just filling out a W7 form and collecting accompanying documentation.
In Turbo tax or HR Block, when you fill out information for your return online, just save as pdf instead of e-filing, print it out and mail it to the Austin, TX address along with W7 and the accompanying documentation.

Your change of status happened when your H1 was approved from the Start date in Oct 2008
That means you are no longer in H-4 status. If your employer has not paid you since Oct that is illegal. The employee has to be paid or terminated. What your employer is doing is not legal ( there is no bench period for H1 employees ).
You can try to get back on the H-4 status by applying for change of status and hope that it is approved.
Desi3933 raised a good point. If you never reported to work the question of termination does not arise and your employer can always say that you never reported for work. If that happens your whole stay from Oct 2008 onwards could be deemed Illegal stay.

you wont need them for any purpose other than travel (there is a regulation that you are in possession of the original receipt notice if you are travelling after filing AOS). It is apparently not being enforced at POE and USCIS is working on removing that requirement (see immigration-law.com post yesterday).
So unless you intend to travel right now, dont worry you dont need it. If you intend to travel ask your lawyer. As long as you have a copy of the receipt (or even just the receipt number) you are good to go.

What they have done is, they have fused all the radioactive issues like border security(and hence national security) with illegal immigration and legal immigration.

Ok, this gaining momentum now. I am all charged up.
So far we have discussed to send to 16 people. We need a champion to coordinate this activity at our end. Something similar to what NeedHelp did for the funding drive.
Will NeedHelp willing to volunteer again here?
These are the few tasks that need to managed:
a) Identify participants of this campaingn
b) Create a common cover letter
c) Identify what documents can be and cannot be included.
d) Finalize the list of receipents
e) Decide on the dates it should be sent.
f) Liason with Media
I don't see why document copies need to be criss-crossed ! We can send them as is ( striking out only the sensitive stuff).
Same day action is a good idea. Thousands of big boxes landing in their office same day will wake up the sleeping Congressmen. We can also alert the media to the event, so that they can film and air the distribution (like Flower campaign). Even if they don't care for us, they do care about their media image ! They don't want to be seen uncaring of their constituents.

I take it that you are under retrogression. You could use AC21 and be on the EAD, provided the new job is similar in nature. Check with an attorney.
H-1B after 6 year period is derived from the pending GC application. If your GC is rejected, automatically your H-1B is also invalid. As you are on H-1B extension beyond 6-year period, it does not matter if you are on EAD or H-1B. There is no switching back to H-1B unless you leave the country for one year.

IMHO, this will show the govt. that we are willing to fork over more money. They will just raise the fees and ask for premium processing.

H1 getting a transfer or those who do not have a problem with waiting do not pay extra.
For getting a GC, everyone would want it.

The problem right now is that the fees USCIS charges to process our I-140/I-485 applications come nowhere close to the costs they incur in adjudication. So I don't see the problem in paying a few thousand dollars to get my GC in 3 months. If that is what it takes to get USCIS to allocate the resources, so be it.
I value the timeliness more than the money. I am sure there will be people who would prefer to wait a couple of years than pay the premium (those who just started on H1 or those who are in secure jobs). This is simply giving customers a choice of service levels: think first-class vs economy seats on flights.
